Current Con Status: Cancelled :(

CypherCon 5.0 (2020) would have started today, however our event was cancelled last month due to covid-19. Luckily, this triggered our event insurance. We do not know what that looks like yet and how long it will take. The insurance won’t discuss next steps until after our event’s dates. (although they did say our claim will be in before others related to covid-19)

What we anticipate is a months long process with our insurance company and if we were to guess the future we will offer the option of either rolling your 2020 tickets into our CypherCon 5.1 Spring 2021 event or offering the original purchaser a refund (However bare with us, until this is approved by insurance, we are required to maintain our strict no refund policy. Any attempts to circumvent will result in a ban from future events.)

With all the negative news lately, we are positively looking forward to putting two year’s worth of planning into CypherCon 5.1 in 2021 =) Honestly going to be the best year we ever had! Stick with us, we have amazing things created and planned.

We appreciate your patience as we work with our insurance and most importantly make sure our families, attendees, and volunteers are safe. If you have any questions, please contact us.

We have just been informed that the City of Milwaukee has officially canceled the 2020 CypherCon. We will have further communication as soon as possible, but we agree (obviously) that this is the right call. While we are devastated by the loss of this show for this year, the health and safety of our attendees has remained our largest concern.

I understand that a lot of people may have questions, and I ask you to bear with us for a few days. Eventually the entire story will come out. In the meantime, I thank you for your support – it is why we do this – and we are hopeful for what lies ahead in the future. We will be back in 2021 with CypherCon 5.1!

Let’s dive in, we are a local state conference and will make decisions based on local facts. We wanted to give you an update about CypherCon 5.0 (April 2/3) & Hak4Kidz (April 4) due to the recent uncertainty caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Our state has three infections at the moment of this message. We have been working with local health and government officials, and together we believe at this time CypherCon & Hak4Kidz will proceed as planned, with additional precautions based on the current best practices at the time of the show. If there are any changes, we will communicate with you as soon as possible.

We have highly intelligent attendees and trust each attendee to evaluate their risk and make their own decisions. However, we ask that if you are sick or have been exposed, please do not come. Additionally, if you live or work with immunocompromised or at-risk individuals, please do not come.

While we do not want to drive our decisions on fear, we also want to do our part to be responsible members of the community. We are hopeful and careful. We thank you for your continued support.
