Cybersecurity’s new villain – Deep Fakes

Abstract:

Deepfakes are an evolving security challenge, leveraging AI to create hyper-realistic but fake videos, images, and audio. This talk will cover three key aspects: 1) What are deepfakes? An introduction to their concept, capabilities, and growing impact on security. 2) How are deepfakes created? A behind-the-scenes look at the AI technologies, such as deep learning and GANs, used to generate them. 3) How can we detect deepfakes? An exploration of current tools, techniques, and strategies to identify and counteract these threats. As deepfakes continue to challenge the integrity of digital media, understanding their mechanics and defenses is crucial for security professionals.
